Ashley's October Wishlist

1/2/3/4/5/6

While it is officially fall, here in Northern California we have had some cool days but we are still in the 80's sometimes even in the 90's. We are getting very cool at night though so I have been in full fall mode even if the weather here is still warm! Currently I am in the mood for a super cute burgundy colored bag, a cute utility coat and comfy knit blankets for the cold nights! Cute boots and jewelry are also up there on my list, I want to get a new pair of boots this year, but I bought a $90 pair last year and only wore them once, so i'm more gearing to accessories this year since they are cheaper I know I know I will get my money out of it! What has been on your October wishlist?

Pumpkin Pie Pancakes With Caramel Sauce

Ahh pumpkin pancakes how can you resist these during this time of the season! I love making these during the fall time because pumpkin is totally in season and there is so much you can do with pumpkin especially delicious pumpkin pancakes with caramel sauce!

Start off with 2 cups of pancake mix, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, (or regular sugar) 1 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 1/4 cup water, and 1 cup canned pumpkin. Stir until all ingredients are well blended. I then poured 1/2 cup of the mixture onto our griddle to make the perfect sized pancakes! Instead of using your regular maple syrup a great alternative for the season is caramel sauce. I just used the kind that you would normally buy for ice cream and heated in the microwave until it got to a liquid consistency! They were delicious!

Do you love making pumpkin pancakes? Have you ever tried them? I was a little hesitant to try them my first time because sometimes the canned pumpkin can throw you off because the smell, but with the sugar and other spices these taste just like eating pumpkin pie!

4 Easy Halloween DIY's

With Halloween being right around the corner we began decorating as soon as it was October  as I did not have this blog up and going just 15 days ago, I did not take during shots while making everything! I do have all the before shots of all the projects me and the husband did this year to get into the Halloween spirit, so I hope a little picture and a description will do for now on how we made these.

Christmas is not far away and we have lots of ideas planned already so I will be sure to take shots during the process of all our projects!

The first photo as you saw at the top of the page is bats all the wall in a pattern that makes them look like they are flying. We choose a corner of the wall to get that effect even more so. This project was probably the easiest, we bought a large piece of black poster paper, we then found a bat image we liked for Google  and traced the design onto the paper 10 times (to get 10 bats) we then placed them on the wall where we wanted them with a little tape! This project was cheap and simple so after Halloween is over we may just throw them out, but the paper we got was a thicker kind so they are actually holding up pretty well that they may be able to be used next year!

This project came out of nowhere, we already had the supplies for the last project I will mention so I thought it would be a cute idea so spray paint an older basket we had lying around the house, add some cute spiders all around it, I also added a little gold glitter around the brim of the basket, and this is our center piece for a table in the kitchen! For this project like I said I already had the supplies because we bought this for another project so it was just the left overs but all you need is an old basket, some black spray paint, and some cheap spider rings (I just cut off the ring part), and a hot glue gun!

New Blog!

Hello,

Welcome to my abode, I am so excited to start blogging again, I have had several blogs in the past, and I have failed at them all (meaning I just get to lazy to post). I recently got married a month ago tomorrow! I am planning to do a post with wedding pictures because I think that would be a great way to start off this blog and you all can get to know me.

My husband and I are also hoping to buy our first home soon, so I think the experience and the home reno's will be fun to blog about as well!

I have an addiction for home bloggers and love DIY projects! I hope that you will follow me on this journey.

Ashley,
